Handcrafted Since 1987 — Nashville, TN
Each Ironwood guitar is born from a single piece of aged tonewoood, shaped by the same hands that have built instruments for the world's greatest players.
Our Instruments
From intimate fingerpicking to stadium-filling resonance, each series is tuned to a different voice — all built with the same uncompromising obsession.
Our Philosophy
We don't believe in assembly lines. Every Ironwood guitar passes through the hands of a single luthier from raw billet to final polish — someone who signs their name inside the body.
Our tonewood stock is aged a minimum of eight years before it ever meets a blade. The result is an instrument that doesn't just sound good today — it improves with every decade of play.
How It's Made
Every board is hand-tapped, quarter-sawn, and graded for tap tone resonance before entering our humidity-controlled aging vault.
Tops are carved to .003" tolerances, using radius dishes refined over three decades. No CNC for structural cuts — only hands and planes.
Abalone inlays are hand-fitted under magnification. Binding channels are routed freehand, a tradition our founders refused to automate.
Every guitar is played for 40 hours before leaving our shop. We adjust, re-fret if needed, and only ship when the instrument feels truly alive.
